This Privacy Policy explains how Matte ("the App"), developed by Jose Saez-Merino ("we", "us", or "our"), handles your information. We believe in transparency and your right to privacy.

1. Information We Collect

When you purchase a license:

• Email address (for license delivery and support)
• Payment information (processed securely by Polar—we never see your full card details)
• Purchase history (to manage your license)

When you use the App:

• License validation checks (to verify your license status)

What we do NOT collect:

• Your recordings or exported videos
• Your project files
• Analytics or usage data
• Device identifiers or tracking data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process your purchase and deliver your license
• Provide customer support
• Send important updates about your license or the App (rare, and never marketing spam)

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account and license information is stored securely with our payment provider (Polar). We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data.

All your creative work—recordings, projects, exports—stays on your Mac. We have no access to it.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Polar — Payment processing and license management. See their privacy policy.

We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking tools. Our website does not use cookies.

5. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, where our payment provider Polar operates. These transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable data protection laws and appropriate safeguards.

6. Data Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you via email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by GDPR.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data we hold
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format

We retain your license and purchase information for as long as your license is active and for a reasonable period afterward (for support and legal compliance). You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Matte is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Spain and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
